Hi there, I’m Missy — the senior photographer behind M. Cave Photography, based in the charming town of Madison, Virginia. I’m incredibly grateful for a life filled with a supportive husband, two amazing teenage daughters, and a couple of sweet furry sidekicks who keep things interesting.
Long before this became a business, I was known as the “family photographer” in my own family. I was always the one with the camera in hand, documenting holidays, milestones, and everyday moments that felt small at the time but now mean everything.
When my dad passed away, I realized just how powerful those images truly are. The photos we had became treasures. They preserved his smile, his presence, and the ordinary moments that suddenly felt priceless. That season shifted something in me. I understood that photography is more than creativity — it’s preservation. It’s legacy. It’s love held onto through time.
My faith has always been my foundation, shaping how I see people and how I serve them. For the past nine years, I’ve also been on a wellness journey that strengthened my discipline, perspective, and gratitude. Both have shaped how I show up — not just as a photographer, but as a woman, a wife, a mom, and a business owner.
When I photograph seniors, I don’t just see outfits and poses. I see a family in a season that will never look exactly the same again. I see parents who want to remember this version of their child forever. I see seniors stepping confidently into who they are becoming.
